Christmas 2018

Sunday 25th November         

4.30pm for 5pm         Christingle

An Advent celebration for all the family with puppets, tricks, multi-media and a ‘Christingle’ for children to take away. (1 hour) Refreshments served with a free Tea for kids from 4.30pm.

Sunday 2nd December 

10.30am     Ishmael & Toys

 Please bring an unwrapped toy for a boy, girl, child or teenager to be distributed locally by Social Services based in our parish (1 hour). Followed by refreshments.

Friday 7th December 

7.30pm Chestnut Tree House Carols                                

A charity Christmas Carol service with festive guest contributions from Chichester City Band and others and an opportunity to raise awareness and funds. (75 minutes)

Sunday 9th December 

7pm Contemporary Carols 

Informal and for the young at heart of any age (90 mins). Followed by refreshments.

Friday 14th December 

7.30pm  Samara's Aid Charity Carols 

A charity Christmas Carol service with festive guest contributions from our ‘One Voice’ Bognor Community Choir and others and an opportunity to raise awareness and funds to provide relief and humanitarian aid to Syria.

Sunday 16th December  

10.30am  All-Age Scratch Nativity 

Either come dressed up already in your nativity character of choice or borrow one of our costumes and join in re-telling the story. Followed by refreshments (1 hour)

6pm  Traditional Nine Lessons & Carols 

A formal service with traditional carol words and bible readings and a short address.

(75 minutes) (Not suitable for young children). Followed by refreshments.

Monday 24th December Christmas Eve

4pm  Crib Service

Assembling the Crib, the Christmas story, carols, puppets and multi-media.

(Especially, but not only, for families with young children) (45 minutes).

6pm  Crib Service

Assembling the Crib, the Christmas story, carols, puppets and multi-media.

Candle-lighting with an explanation of the true meaning of Christmas (60 minutes).

(Especially, but not only, for families with older children) Followed by refreshments.

8pm  Carols by Candlelight

An informal service of bible readings with the best of old and new carols, with a Christmas sermon. (Not suitable for young children)

(90 minutes) Followed by refreshments.

10.15pm  Christmas Communion

 With a short message. (50 mins), ideal for those staying on from the Carols by Candlelight. (Not suitable for children). 

11.30pm  Christmas Communion 

A peaceful, atmospheric service with traditional carols, the Lord’s Supper and a short Christmas message. (Not suitable for children) (1 hour)

Tuesday 25th Christmas Day

9am  Christmas Communion (1 hour)                                                                       Carols, Communion and a Christmas Message (Not suitable for children) 

10.30am  All-Age Christmas Celebration (60 minutes) 

A joyous celebration of the birth of Christ for all the family.
